(US).- Massachusetts lawmakers have given final approval to the bill legalizing casino gambling in this state, sending the legislation to Governor Deval Patrick’s desk for his signature.

The Patrick administration said the governor will not sign the bill tonight, and is likely to do so early next week, prior to the Thanksgiving holiday.

The bill, approved in both chambers just before 5 p.m., passed the House in 124-30 vote and the Senate by a voice vote.

The final plan scaled back a last-minute proposal to increase payments to the horse-racing industry.
