Bally and WMS settle patent litigation

(US).- Bally Technologies and WMS Industries announced this week they have entered into a settlement and license agreement that will end their pending patent litigation.

As part of the agreement, Bally will obtain a license to the WMS and Aruze Transmissive Reels gaming technology portfolio under confidential terms.

With a history dating back to 1932, Las Vegas-based Bally Technologies designs, manufactures, operates and distributes advanced gaming devices, systems and technology solutions worldwide. Bally’s product line includes reel-spinning slot machines, video slots, wide-area progressives, mobile and interactive applications, and Class II, lottery and central determination games and platforms. Bally also offers an array of casino management, slot accounting, bonusing, cashless and table management solutions.

WMS is engaged in serving the gaming industry worldwide by designing, manufacturing and marketing video and reel-spinning gaming machines, video lottery terminals, and in gaming operations, which consists of the placement of leased participation gaming machines in legal gaming venues.  WMS is proactively addressing the next stage of casino gaming floor evolution with its WAGE-NET networked gaming solution, a suite of system technologies and applications designed to increase the revenue generating capabilities and operational efficiency.
