(US).- IGT announced this week that Dan Mikesell has joined the company as regional vice president of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). “Dan has a passion for Latin America which results from his living and working throughout the region for 25 years,” said Craig Churchill, IGT senior vice president of International Sales.

Churcill added: “His excitement for the gaming industry and proven track record of success in the communications and IT industries are just what we were looking for in a new regional leader. Dan will continue to put in place the processes, environment and culture needed for future growth while delivering market-attuned products and services that customers expect from IGT.”

In his new role, Mikesell will focus on increasing sales and customer value across the region, enabling IGT to deliver their games, systems solutions and on-line offerings to current and new customers alike. IGT’s global brands include some of the most recognizable and successful pop culture themes on casino floors, as well as games featuring regionalized themes such as Dia de los Muertos, a new, fully-localized game for Mexico and Latin America.

Mikesell comes to IGT from Oracle where he was Latin America regional vice president for its Communications Business Unit.
