How was G2E compared to other years?
We’ve never looked better! We introduced some great products and some world-class brands. With regards to games, our customers were most impressed with our Michael Jackson King of Pop, Grease, and Pro Curve products. In systems, our Elite Bonusing Systems products like DM Tournaments got the most attention.
What was Bally’s performance at the show?
Excellent. Not only did we have the branded games, we also won First Place for “Best Slot Product” at the Gaming & Technology Awards, for a new video slot called Fish’n for Loot. This really showcases the advancement of our iDeck touch-screen button deck. Fish’n for Loot and Total Blast, another game with the exciting new U-Shoot play mechanic, take player interactivity on the iDeck to the next level.
In our new Bally Interactive business we won awards for our Mobile Platform and in Systems we got recognized for our Service Tracking Manager product.
The depth of our games library with the addition of 10 new play mechanics and creative interaction on the iDeck (U-Shoot, U-Play and U-Win Turtle bonus) really show operators we’re just starting to hit our stride.
How did you perceive the industry at the Sands Expo?
This year’s G2E showed that we – and our competitors – continually raise the bar. It’s an exciting time to be involved in gaming with the ability to be so innovative and groundbreaking. There was a lot of buzz about mobile gaming and we showcased our custom mobile applications and play-for-fun games. We also showed the ability to play our games on the Internet. As for the Sands Expo, it was a terrific location in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip. It was a good move for the industry to host the show there, and we are looking forward to next year!
What was the feedback from operators?
Amazining. Operators openly expressed to us how impressed they were with our lineup and how we’re stepped up our game. They are as excited as we are about our branded games, the depth of our game libraries, our mobile products and our floor wide event products from systems. We’re customer centric and were laser focused on increasing the guest experience for our casino partners. Our games and systems innovations speak for themselves.
What countries did the majority of Bally’s stand visitors come from?
The majority were from North America and our neighbor to the south, Mexico. But we saw customers from six continents and it was great to see a lot of our partners from all over the world.
What are your plans after G2E?
Execution. We set a lot of expectations at G2E and now we need solid execution to deliver. We’ll be launching Grease early next year and Michael Jackson King of Pop in late spring of 2012. We just recently announced an enterprise-wide contract to provide iVIEW DM to Caesars Enteratinment, the world’s largest casino operator, so that’s going to be a lot of work. Exciting times!
