How was the 2011 edition of G2E compared to previous editions?
It was a different edition for all the exhibitors, due to factors such as the change of venue, the change of layout of the show and the services offered. Particularly for Spielo, it was different to any other event in which we have ever participated, because you do not often have the chance to announce a new brand name.
In general, I think the new location was a success, due to its proximity to the hotels in which Las Vegas visitors usually stay. However, the venue has several disadvantages compared to “Las Vegas Convention Center”, such as the lack of coffe shops and/or restaurants inside the showground. The layout was difficult to visit.
With regards to Spielo, it was a memorable event, not only due to the commercial achievements, but also because we managed to offer, for the first time and in exclusive, an event to our Latin American customers to announce them the change of name. For us, this will be an unforgettable event.
Why have you chosen Las Vegas to present the merger of Atronic and Spielo?
The merger is complete, and our new name represents that completion. Our customers have already been aware of this merger initiative, but we present ourselves under the new name of Spielo International for the first time. We chose Las Vegas because it is an iconic city for the activity and also because it is the first event after the change of name.
What comments have you received by operators?
Latin American operators have always been very identified with Atronic, not only at a product level but also considering the personal relations we achieved through the years.
So, due to our new name, they have ley us know their total support and have renovated their commitment with us, as well as Spielo International has done with them. We augur a future full of success.
How have you perceived the industry in the halls of Sands Expo & Convention Center?
This has been a challenging year. Not only our firm has introduced new products to the market, but also our competitors have. We believe this is healthy, it raises the level of competitivity and the operator would benefit the most. I saw all types of products, very interesting options, but, above all, I saw quality and a lot of expectation from people.
What are the markets you received more visitors from?
Naturally, most of the visitors came from the North American market. However, we have received a lot of friends and customers from Latin America.
Which are your plans after G2E?
Our next event is SAGSE. We are focused in the consolidation of Spielo International in the regional market.
In which way will you present the new Spielo International brand in SAGSE Buenos Aires?
The same way we presented our booth in G2E Las Vegas. Spielo International announcement is a worldwide known change that, as part of the regional strategy, included an exclusive event in Las Vegas for our customers. As well as the adequate information support, SAGSE will be the first regional presentation under our new identity.
