Thanks to the impetus of positive change that was embraced by the whole international gaming industry, those results were overwhelmingly positive.
‘Change’, as the saying goes, ‘can be a good thing’. After experiencing the first gaming show to be held for a decade at the Sands Convention Center the more than 425 exhibiting companies (over 70 of them from 25 different countries) and the many thousands of excited visitors could agree that change most certainly was a good thing as it generated a new ‘feel good factor’ that has, as a result of the prevailing economic climate of the past three years, been noticeably absent.
At G2E Novomatic, together with its wholly owned subsidiary and the group company dedicated as its international manufacturing and sales arm, Austrian Gaming Industries (AGI) and also its many international, from across the Americas and far beyond, presented a wide range of gaming entertainment innovations and systems solutions.
Three gaming concepts that were the talk of the show, Community Gaming, Tournament Play and server based gaming, gained significant traction during G2E. As a new promotional key element, AGI showed its new Reel Tournament, offering guests live tournament play on an unlimited number of linked Coolfire II machines. The system’s tournament controller offers different win modes, tournament settings, valuable promotional extras and games selection by the push of a button – without necessary software changes. Community Gaming, too, is a new and vibrant attraction for international casinos and AGI presented Bank Blaster in Las Vegas, challenging guests to ‘Team Up and Win’ in this safe-cracking Community Jackpot.
From Octavian came the mystery progressive jackpot theme Wild Nights, set to thrill casino guests with an inspiring party tour through Europe‘s most romantic cities for a ‘reel good’ time. System technology is a major ‘driving force’ for any casino’s gaming floor and Octavian, as well as proudly presenting jackpot solutions such as Wild Nights, were at G2E to demonstrate the casino management system ACP (Accounting Control Progressives System).
AGI’s exciting Novostar SL2 slant top has become a major attraction on gaming floors around the world and featured heavily at G2E. Instantly recognizable and with key features such as its unique Flip Screen, which allows the player to switch the action from lower to upper screen with one button push – even in mid game, and secondary, footrest mounted, Start button; the Novostar SL2 is the king of slant top cabinets.
Also on show at G2E were the Super-V+ Gaminator and Novo Super-Vision cabinets; equipped with AGI’s flexible and proven Super-V+ Gaminator multi-game solutions across the Coolfire II cabinet range and, thanks to an ever-expanding choice of stunning video game combinations, guaranteeing the utmost flexibility for the casino. A further attraction in Las Vegas was a selection of Ultimate 10 multi-game mixes.
Furthermore Novoline Novo Unity II and Novoline GDS/VLT (downloadable gaming/video lottery terminals) demonstrated the ultimate in server based gaming entertainment innovation.
AGI’s Managing Director, Jens Halle, expressed himself satisfied with the new look G2E and with the levels of interest from both customers and visitors. In a succinct commentary he noted: “The show was a success and clearly validates the huge amount of work that went into its change of date and venue. Now we move on to ICE 2012 in London and the changes that will take place there also. As always, our goal will be to live up to our proud claim that ‘Novomatic Leads, Others Follow’.”
