AGS announces licensing agreement for Ripley’s Believe it or not!

(US).- American Gaming Systems (AGS) informed that it has entered into an exclusive, North American licensing agreement with Ripley Entertainment to develop casino games based on the world-famous Ripley’s Believe It or Not brand, which for nearly a century has entertained the world with its unique collection of astounding yet true facts, feats and oddities.

The licensing agreement with Ripley Entertainment will allow AGS to offer its first branded title and build on the success of Ripley’s Believe It or Not! slot machines that were marketed by another company in the 2001-2004 timeframe. At the peak of the game’s popularity, more than 1,000 Ripley’s Believe It or Not! machines were in casinos nationwide as players responded with excitement to the ground-breaking knowledge-based elements that were incorporated into the game.

Based in Orlando, Florida, Ripley Entertainment operates the world’s largest chain of museum-type attractions with 80 attractions in 10 countries that draw visits from more than 12 million people annually. Robert L. Ripley was for 40 years a famous cartoonist, radio personality, lecturer, world traveler and collector of amazing but true facts, feats and oddities, which comprised his Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Episodes. At its peak, the classic cartoon series appeared in 300 newspapers in 17 different languages and was read by 80 million people around the globe.

With its proprietary 3-D graphics engine, AGS’ Roadrunner platform, which features an accelerated video frame refresh rate, producing crystal-clear graphics and superior game-play features, will power the Ripley’s Believe It or Not! game. Roadrunner also allows AGS to develop both Class III and Class II titles that give players the same entertainment experience and boosts AGS’ commitment to support its Class II customers and markets.
