The 100th web site was a Wheel of Fortune 2nd Chance Game site launched for a lottery on August 30. It was the 14th Wheel of Fortune 2nd Chance Game site launched by MDI this year as part of the Wheel of Fortune linked game, which has 20 lotteries participating.
“The fact that MDI is able to successfully manage and maintain more than 100 web sites at once is a testament not only to the hard work, ingenuity and expertise of our MDI Interactive team, it’s also a reflection of the continuing growth in interactive initiatives by lotteries in general,” said Steve Saferin, President, Properties Group and Chief Creative Officer for Scientific Games. “We’re truly gratified to see the work that we’ve been entrusted with, and we remain fully committed to providing lotteries with innovative, effective ways to reach new players and enrich their relationships with existing players.”
MDI has plans for several other significant developments in its interactive portfolio before the end of 2011. Most notably, MDI is working on the launch of the Points for Prizes rewards program for the Tennessee Education Lottery. MDI also will be introducing the Arcade Zone, a 2nd Chance Interactive Game site that gives holders of eligible non-winning tickets the opportunity to play four interactive games of their choice for the chance to win drawing entries and predetermined instant cash prizes.
A wide selection of instant games sold by MDI will be eligible for participation in the Arcade Zone. Lastly, MDI will be enhancing its Lottery Music Store offering to include downloadable e-books, apps and Facebook game credits in addition to the millions of music downloads currently available.
