What are your expectations for G2E 2011?
We are very excited with G2E 2011, and we have high expectations about it. This is the biggest event for the gaming industry, and we are confident that our new releases will also meet our customers’ expectations.
What will the company's participation consist of?
Basically we will showcase a wide range of products and our customers will be able to see what is available today, what will be available in a short term, and what will be available in a long term. With that in mind, our customers will be able to have a feeling about Konami’s commitment in providing them new and innovative solutions, so they can grow their business.
Do you believe that the change of date and venue will be beneficial?
Yes, especially to our customers, as they will have a few extra weeks to plan their budgets for the next year.
How did you see the global gaming industry during this year?
It was not an easy year at all, but that does not stop people to be creative in developing new ideas to minimize the negative financial impact. The good news is that there are some signs that the scenario will get better.
What has been the performance of the company's target markets?
We are exceeding our expectations and, despite the current situation of the industry, we were able to steadily grow in most of the markets where we are present.
How was the gaming industry affected by the economic crisis that are experiencing the U.S. and Europe?
As mentioned before, it has not been an easy year. Not only in the US and Europe, most of the markets were affected somehow. Interesting is that some operators continue to invest in their business despite the crisis, as they know that if they stop, it will be even worse.
What are the perspectives for 2012?
We have been building a very solid foundation in all the markets and for sure this will help us to continue with our growth strategy. There are a few signs that next year things will improve in the industry, and this also will benefit us.
