(Macau).- MGM China Holdings chairwoman, Pansy Ho Chiu King, said she “firmly” believes it is possible for the gaming operator to still be granted land in Cotai in 2011. Last week, Wynn Macau announced it had formally accepted the terms and conditions of the concession by the government for a land plot of approximately 51 acres in Cotai.

Asked whether that could impact MGM China’s aspirations, Ms Ho said “there is no point competing even in terms of who gets the land first and who is going to ultimately build it out first.”“For us, as long as we are given the fair opportunity, meaning there is no deliberate delay in any sense, then we are very satisfied.”

According to Ms Ho, MGM China is keen on working with the government to solve any possible issues regarding its application. For that, the gaming operator has already assembled a team of architects, designers and technical experts. “I would say there are no issues we cannot address,” Ms Ho stressed.
