(US, exclusive Yogonet.com).- Weeks before the start of G2E show, Koen Stomph, Advantech-Innocore's Sales Director, talked to Yogonet.com about his expectations for the event, the current situation of the firm and its future plans. “Advantech-Innocore will be attending G2E for the first time as the combined company since Advantech’s purchase of Innocore Gaming last year”, he pointed.

What are your expectations for G2E 2011?
Advantech-Innocore will be attending G2E for the first time as the combined company since Advantech’s purchase of Innocore Gaming last year.  With the combined strength of the two companies, Advantech-Innocore is now the leading global gaming supplier of PC based platforms.  We are excited to be able to show new and existing customers the huge range of products and services we now offer throughout the world. The ‘one stop shop’ statement has never been more applicable in this industry, so we are looking forward telling all about it.

What will the company's participation consist of?
As part of our well-known range of gaming specific platforms, Advantech-Innocore is proud to announce the global launch of the latest addition to the DPX-E-series (Economy), the DPX-E120. Based on the AMD G-series embedded platform (‘Fusion’), the DPX-E120 is a complete industrial computer system that offers good performance and very low power consumption. As with all DPX products, a full feature set of I/O, COMs and security designed specifically for gaming devices is also included making the DPX-E120 an ideal integrated platform for many gaming, amusement and kiosk applications. The overall system offers a fanless solution and the gaming functions share the same API as Innocore’s other DPX- series boards. CPU choice ranges from1.65GHz Dual core to 1.5GHz Single core. The advanced AMD Radeon HD6130 Direct X 11, Open GL 4.1 provides integrated high performance graphics for two independent displays.

In the S-series the new DPX-S415 and DPX-S425 are on show, offering state-of-the-art gaming functionality in a highly integrated design with top level performance.
In the range of standard industrial PC (IPC) products, Advantech-Innocore will be demonstrating two new Industrial Mini-ITX computer products: one based on the AMD Mobile G-series (‘e-Ontario’) chipset and one based on the Intel ‘Sandy Bridge’ chipset.

Furthermore, Advantech-Innocore is showing  Industrial system and board-level solutions based on Intel Sandy Bridge and Cedar Trail multi-core processors as well as AMD Turion II/ Athlon x2 and G-Series CPUs, hospitality and digital signage solutions up to 42 inch screen size and portable and handheld battery-powered terminals and tablets. With this wide range of state-of-the-art industrial PC products, Advantech-Innocore is demonstrating the leading position in the industry.

Do you believe that the change of date and venue will be beneficial?
Certainly the date change is very welcome; not only does it create more time between ‘the other global show’ (London) and G2E but also the better weather conditions will contribute to a more pleasant atmosphere. Not being familiar with the Sands as an expo location it is difficult to comment on that change.

How did you see the global gaming industry during this year?
We saw some markets having difficulties matching performance of previous years but the ongoing growth in other areas – albeit in a somewhat slower rate - has been a pleasant highlight in 2011.

How affected is the gaming industry by the economic crisis that the U.S. and Europe are experiencing?
It is obvious an economic crises has a direct effect on takings therefore also on sales of equipment. And at the same time, we see even more legislative causes for revenue decreases e.g. smoking bans, enforced decreases of installed base or de-centralization of authorities. On the other hand in some instances the economic situation actually drives changes in legislation that represent new revenue opportunities (Greece, Italy) for the industry…. So, yes, economy has an effect, but there are many more influencing factors in play….  Fortunately, Advantech-Innocore has a very diversified customer base now, with customers in all the major gaming markets as well as emerging markets.  This diversity has allowed us to maintain stable sales as well as increasing our customer base even through the general economic down turn in Western Europe and US.

What are the perspectives for 2012?
A strong global footprint, excellent engineering resources, in house manufacturing,  in-depth knowledge of gaming and a solid product line up underline very clearly  that Advantech-Innocore  is now positioned very well to meet the challenges of today’s- and tomorrow’s gaming industry and support the requirements of our customers worldwide.
