(Spain).- The incomes of Cirsa, a group headed by Manuel Lao, were 857 million euros, according to a press release issued by company. In the second quarter, with a turnover of 419 million euros, the operational benefit reached the 71.5 million euros, an 8% more than the same period last year.

The group justifies these results due to the good performance of the activities in Latin America and Italy, and the rigor in the implementation and monitoring of operational plans and specially the efficiency in the Spanish market. The current situation and the anti-tobacco law have also allowed Cirsa to “comply with its commitments towards markets” for 22 quarters in a row.

The B2B division has allowed to have a wide and innovative offer of slot machines and gaming kits in Spain, a key factor in the consolidation of its leadership in the hostelling sector, which represents, at the end of this first semester, a market share of more than 55 %.

Argentina, Colombia and Panama continue leading the growth of the casino division in Latin America thanks, in part, to the economic situation, the good behaviour of the investments and an offer which is more customized every day, and adjusted to the different market segments.

In Italy, the positive evolution of the incomes, due to the implantation of VLT from the beginning of the current year in gambling venues and bingo halls, is decisive in the achievement of its good results.

Mexico keeps its growing trend, mainly due to the expansion of the collection of machines and the management of packages of products, which has meant an increase in visits and, consequently, in incomes.

Sportium brand is consolidating and expanding its leading position in line with the new regulations in the different Autonomous Communities. The firm currently has 120 points of sale in Madrid Council and 50 in Aragon.

Cirsa Gaming Corporation had operational incomes of 1,77 billion euros in 2010 and its offer is comprised by 32 traditional casinos, 83 online casinos, 32,500 recreational machines, 88 bingo halls, 140 gambling venues, 139 sportsbook centers, 1,250 lottery terminals and 2,583 VLT in Spain, Italy and Latin America.
