Aristocrat commences further enforcement proceedings to protect intellectual property

(Australia).- Aristocrat Leisure announced the commencement of further legal proceedings against competitors for patent infringement. The firm is continuing a strategy to aggressively defend its intellectual property rights against infringement, as outlined in the company’s recent half-year results announcement.

In the last 12 months Aristocrat has successfully taken action against Independent Gaming and Konami Australia in Australia for infringement of its intellectual property.

Aristocrat also has separate proceedings underway in the Federal Court of Australia against IGT (Australia) and Konami Australia. The company commenced proceedings against Ainsworth Game Technology for infringement of a range of Aristocrat patents.

Trevor Croker, Aristocrat Managing Director Australia and New Zealand, said Aristocrat’s IP is a crucial company asset and the company has taken a proactive approach to protecting and defending IP as a core part of business strategy.
