Carvalho explained that it is not healthy using funds coming from games of chance for the Public Health. “The government does not have a favourable position towards gaming. We took the decision to ban in in the past and we keep on maintaining that position”, added the officer.
Carvalho statements were made within the debate for the establishment of the norm called “Amendment 29”, which establishes minimum parameters for federative entities to invest in resources for the financing of actions and services related to Public Health.
The bingo legalization could assure the feasibility of the “Amendment 29”, however, Carvalho discarded this possibility with this statement.
