Macau’s casino revenue to grow above 35% in 2011

(Macau).- Macau’s casino gross gaming revenue should grow “above 35 %” for the overall 2011, says the top regulator. The Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau director Manuel Joaquim das Neves made the estimate to Macau Daily Times.

For the first seven months of the year, revenues were up by 45.2 %. In April, Neves said gaming gross revenue should increase “between 20 and 30 %” in 2011.

Last year, Macau’s gross gaming revenue stood at us$ 23.5 billion.

Meanwhile, according to data compiled by Macau Daily Times, August is likely to set a new monthly casino gross gaming revenue record. According to the newspaper, by August 29, local casinos had already raked in us$ 2.84 billion.

The current record stands at us$ 2.97 billion and was set in May.
