July slot machine revenue single highest month to date in Pennsylvania

(US).- The amount of revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos was the single highest monthly period of revenue since legalized gaming was introduced into the Commonwealth in 2006.

(US).- The amount of revenue generated through the play of slot machines at Pennsylvania casinos was the single highest monthly period of revenue since legalized gaming was introduced into the Commonwealth in 2006.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported on its web site today that July gross revenue at the 10 operating casinos was us$ 218,300,465 from slot machine play.  The previous high month for revenue was March 2011 with gross revenue of us$ 214,926,433.
Tax generated to the Commonwealth this July from slot machine play was us$ 118,770,115 or us$ 3.83 million per day.  That amount was 3.4% higher than taxes generated in July 2010. In a comparison of the revenue for just the nine casinos operating in July 2011 that were also open for the full month of July 2010, there was an decrease of 3.5%.

The average number of operating slot machines throughout Pennsylvania at the 10 casinos was 26,403 in July 2011 compared to 24,903 at nine casinos in July 2010.
