Bingo and casino giants to generate 1400 new jobs before 2015

Rank proposes to take on this recruitment initiative over the next three years, as part of a revised plan to complete a faster turn out of the company’s new G-Casino format.

Ranks goal is to build on its already substantial casino portfolio, and they hope to have 45 casinos in operation by 2015. It is planned that no less than 30 of these will be the new G-Casino’s. Locations targeted for these properties include Stockton-on-Tees, which is planned for completion later this year, Manchester and New Brighton in Merseyside that will be completed in 2012.

In a bid to modernise the chain with the new look G-casino Brand it has been decided that an older-style casino in Kensington is to close. The new sites have poker rooms, electronic games, bars and restaurants as well as casino tables and are designed to appeal as a night out venue to a younger, less formal customer than the traditional casino. The plan is also rumoured to include live entertainment at weekends so create a one stop entertainment complex to appeal more to today’s clientele.

The Rank Group, have also announced the appointed of Clive Jennings as its new finance director. Jennings has been promoted from financial controller and will serve as a director on the company’s board.

Ian Burke, who remains Rank’s CEO and chairman, despite having resigned on 28 June, said: “I am delighted that Clive is joining the board of the company. With his knowledge of the business, I am confident that he will contribute significantly to the development of Rank in the future.”
