Ortega continued explaining the context that made them take this resolution:
“It is not the moment to analyze in depth the reasons that forced us take to the decision of annulling the present exhibition. However, in the current scenario of economic crisis and widespread presentations of machines in the whole Spain for no more than a hundred operators, honestly we had thought that the historical affluence of thousands of professional visitors to Malaga meant a ‘commercial treasure’ that the sector could not ignore, and far from it, miss”.
He continued: “It is evident that we were wrong and, although we feel proud for having made a great effort for serving the sector and saving our event, we must acknowledge that those who have honestly adviced us not to organize the exhibition this year were right.”
“We thank the support and also the enthusiasm of the Council of Andalusia, Anmare, Acodisa and of the companies that had booked their booths, specially in the B3 segment, but we are sure that you will understand the moral decency that supports our decision of not celebrating a watered down trade show that would reduce, from disappointment, verging on fraud, the expectations of the thousands of professionals that, for 30 years, have been assisting to the Andalusian Gaming Show in order to gather and do business with all their sector”.
“We have the clean conscience, cool head, warm heart and frozen assets, what confirms us as sons of the sector, as well as the current situation we have to face. Instead of folding, failure stimulates us to continue searching for the gap that definitely made us come out of the crisis. From now on, we start working in order to achieve that the following Madrid event, accepted by everyone and without doubt, will obtain the commercial success deserved by the effort of all exhibitors”, he concluded.
