The appointment of Nikolakopoulos complements the vision of SVL, as the company charts the path forward for expansion of its gaming lounge and sports betting operations over the next ten years.
Hoo in announcing the appointment said “Intralot’s strategic stake in SVL and its recent signal through a 10-year contract for the provision of Video Lottery Terminals (slot machines) to upgrade the gaming floors at SVL’s lounges (Acropolis Barbican, Portmore and May Pen and Coral Cliff in Montego Bay), underscores their commitment to invest in Jamaica.”
“Intralot will also provide a state-of–the-art electronic monitoring system for the machines and training support for the technical staff of the gaming lounges. Intralot expertise in route systems will also be utilized for the roll-out of slot machines in smaller betting lounges island wide,” Hoo added.
Intralot acquired a stake of SVL in 2008, increasing its participation in 2010. SVL already successfully uses Intralot’s technology for its sports betting operations under the JustBet brand. Intralot, also signed an agreement to provide SVL with Video Lottery Terminals and its Electronic Monitoring System, “iGEM”.
Before joining Intralot, Nikolakopoulos held a number of senior positions in multinational Information Technology companies, including Microsoft, INTRACOM Group, among others. Born in 1968, he studied Information Technology at the Athens Economic & Business University and has received an MBA from La Verne University.
