He has also decided to cancel the registration of Nepal Recreation Centre. The ministry had issued a public notice in the name of the casino operator to pay the royalty or face the music.
The four casinos owe in the government Rs 340 million in total as royalty.
The closure of the casinos is likely to leave a very negative impact in the Nepal’s tourism industry. Large number of tourists mostly from India comes to Nepal only to visit the casinos.
