Part of its PokerPro portfolio, PokerTek stated that the approval for Version 3.0 ‘clears the way for installations and upgrades of this new software into jurisdictions worldwide that accept GLI certification’.

The North Carolina firm revealed that Version 3.0 has already been deployed at the local Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel and Casino and was ‘instrumental’ in running the venue’s first World Series of Poker (WSOP) tournament in early-May on 20 PokerPro tables. The field began with 269 players and ended with the winner taking home over us$ 25,000 in prizes including a main event seat at the WSOP valued at us$ 10,000.

“Seeing our new Tournaments Plus+ software run a WSOP event on 20 PokerPro tables was exciting,” said Mark Roberson, CEO for PokerTek. “This new software changes the way multi-table poker tournaments are played, offering up-to-the-minute information, interactive player statistics and endless configuration options. The information players are used to seeing online is now available in a live environment.”

Matthews-based PokerTek declared that Version 3.0 allows operators to set up any combination of alternates, rebuys and add-ons across multiple tables while prizes can be paid directly into player accounts utilising the system’s various tiered payout structures. In addition, a new community tournament leaderboard displays player rankings and chip stacks alongside a clock, blind levels and statistics with individual competitor screens also exhibiting up-to-the-minute details.
