GTECH’s corporate-based application of these security control standards is unique to the lottery industry as it follows a more centralized process similar to other multi-national businesses.
“It is very rewarding to have GTECH’s corporate headquarters and home-based technology center merged into our centralized certification effort,” said Senior Vice President and General Counsel, Michael Prescott, who also oversees information and global security. “This extension demonstrates the effectiveness of Gtech’s global Information Security Management System (ISMS) and our steadfast commitment to protecting our customers’ most sensitive information.”
The addition of the ISO/IEC 27001 certification and the World Lottery Association (WLA) Security Control Standard: 2006 certification continues to give Gtech an unparalleled position in the lottery industry. More than 50 percent of the locations where GTECH solutions are installed now operate under the highest level of security standards.
Gtech Printing Corporation (GPC) was the company’s first corporate location to receive ISO/IEC 27001 and WLA SCS certifications. These certifications cover all design and development activities related to the production of lottery systems, both online and instant, including the ISMS, technical design and development, finance, human resources, physical security, IT and application security, business continuity and internal audit.
“I am pleased that our ISO 27001 and WLA SCS certifications are quickly expanding,” said GTECH Senior Director of Information Security, Kevin DeLange. “We will continue to diligently work toward adding additional key locations around the world to these certifications as we provide our customers with the upmost confidence in our security processes.”
