The Venetian sets new Web standard with Ektron-Powered site

Sanchez cites Ektron - a provider of web content management, social software and marketing optimization solutions - as a pure, native .NET content management system (CMS) strongly aligned with Microsoft technologies as one of the reasons for the company's decision.  "Ektron's open architecture and API provide unlimited extensibility," Sanchez notes. "We plan to tie into this API to extend to back-end data systems and third-party tools."

The site refresh was implemented by Vana Technologies, a leading full-service software development and systems integration firm. Ektron's best practices team worked with Vana and the Las Vegas Sands eCommerce team to build a solid infrastructure to host the Ektron installation.

The Venetian site is the first of four planned website migrations during 2011 by The Venetian's parent company, the Las Vegas Sands, which will include marinabaysands.com, palazzo.com and lasvegassands.com.

"The multi-site capabilities of Ektron allow us easy management of one CMS installation for support and future updates to all our property websites," says Sanchez.
