The merger has also brought about a handful of changes at senior management level, with Simon Duffy – whose appointment was announced in October – formally taking over as chairman.

Jim Ryan and Norbert Teufelberger begin their new roles as co-CEOs, and in a joint statement the pair said: “We are delighted that our merger is now complete so that we can start with the integration of our businesses and capturing the synergies we have already identified.”

The board of the combined entity is roughly evenly split between Bwin and Party members, with Bwin’s COO Joachim Baca reprising his role with bwin.party and former PartyGaming Finance Director Martin Weigold named CFO of the group.
