International casino operators show interest in Fiji set up
(Fiji).- Casino owners abroad have shown a keen interest in setting up in Fiji, says Tourism Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum.

Although Sayed-Khaiyum could not reveal any other information about the businesses, he says there have been a number of casino entrepreneurs that have shown their interest.
“We will provide more information on the issue in due time.” he added.
Late last year, Government tendered an Expression of Interest for the development of its first ever casino. The EOI stated that government would formulate a regulatory framework to govern casino operations in Fiji.
It will be in accordance with international best practice in casino operations and management and will also inter alia take into account socio-economic conditions and the Fiji brand.
