Over the next few years three licenses will be granted for casinos in Montego Bay, Trelawny and a third city in the west of the island, yet to be decided.
To date, conditions of competition for a future casino license haven not been defined. All they have notified is that they want to learn and study the various proposals.
It seems that the ruling still would take a while, as it depends on the Gaming Commission, a new body that is starting at everything related to their skills.
It should be noted that in May last year, the government of Jamaica legalized casinos after a year of debate. Prime Minister Bruce Golding said that companies seeking to a gaming license must invest a minimum of U$S 1.5 billion and build a hotel with at least 2,000 rooms.
