The new service will be rolled out for the new generation of television units and Blu-Ray players that feature built-in Internet connections, while it will receive a license fee for its technology alongside an ongoing share of all revenues this platform generates for Betfair.
Two Way stated that the new service to be deployed in Australia will be capable of taking wagers via use of a remote control on all sporting events broadcast by free-to-air and pay television along with any form of IPTV.
The agreement will also see Two Way serve as Betfair’s exclusive provider of all sportsbetting services via any television platform for the next three years.
“Television sportsbetting is an exciting new initiative in the Australian marketplace,” said Ben Reichel, CEO for Two Way.
“Our television wagering service on racing events is popular with punters and also offers high standards of integrity and commitment to responsible wagering. Betfair has repeatedly demonstrated its commitment to innovation and its understanding of the opportunities offered by new media and technology. We look forward to working with it,” he concluded.
