Weak Chinese New Year for casinos

(Macau).- The Chinese New Year holidays brought lower-than-expected gross gaming revenue to Macau’s casinos. From February 1 to February 6, local casinos raked in us$103.7 million, Radio Macau reported.

According to estimates quoted by Radio Macau, February could end with full-month casino gross gaming revenue of just almost one billion dollar.

However, unnamed experts quoted by Radio Macau noted that the figures could improve later on this month, as the VIP segment picks up.
