The eight-year contract is expected to commence in November 2012 when the new system becomes operational, and it has the option to extend for an additional five years. GTECH anticipates receiving revenues of approximately €40 million over the contract term.

GTECH will replace Loterie Nationale’s existing central system with the Company’s Enterprise Series (ES) solution that will support both online and instant games and will also replace the online terminal base with 450 Altura GT1200 terminals. The new ES system and terminals will allow sports betting games to be offered to players and will enhance Loterie Nationale’s back office, inventory management, and reporting systems.

The ES MultiMedia technology will allow Loterie Nationale to manage, distribute, and display multimedia content such as transactions, advertising, games and messaging at the retail location, through a single point of control. Besides, the existing self-service lottery product vending machines will be replaced with 160 Gemini Ultra machines. With these,  Loterie Nationale will gain enhanced online/instant sales, inventory, and machine status reporting, as well as the added feature of ES MultiMedia incorporated into the machine.

Moreover, the contract will allow for an innovative, contemporary player services package and Internet-based game play through GTECH’s new “Renaissance” Interactive Platform and Player Program.

Also, GTECH will provide ongoing services  including installation and maintenance of the central system and terminals; maintenance of the communications network and interactive gaming platform; and field service.

Jaymin B. Patel,  GTECH President and CEO, said that   “GTECH is committed to retaining its customers, Loterie Nationale has been a valued GTECH customer since 2001 when we first brought their instant games online. We will continue to work with Loterie Nationale to bring them to the next level of growth, helping them to build a strategy for the future to ensure the Lottery continues to attract today’s player as well as the next generation of players.”

“We were extremely impressed with the proposal put forth by GTECH. From a technology point-of-view, the new system will well enable us to grow our revenue in a fully responsible way through all available channels. Moreover, GTECH has demonstrated a low risk migration strategy that will protect our revenues and reputation during the conversion process to the new system”, said Léon Losch, Loterie Nationale Director.
