“Innovations driven by GSA standards will define the future for the European gaming industry”

What are your expectations and objectives for ICE?
At GSA, we always look forward to ICE because our message of standards and their potential is so crucial for the many jurisdictions across Europe. Our objective will be to discuss new technologies built on GSA standards and to work closely with operators and regulators to help them understand the benefits and value of implementing the GSA standards.

The stands of our many supplier members exhibiting at ICE will be filled with the very latest technologies driven by GSA standards. These innovations, driven by GSA standards, will chart the course and define the future for the European gaming industry.

In your opinion, what will be this edition’s main challenge?
The challenge will happen after the event, when operators return to their casinos and analyze their operation for how best to implement the innovations they have seen on the ICE tradeshow floor. As always, GSA staff is ready to help operators and regulators in anyway they can.

Which trends do you expect to see this year at the show?
Player-driven innovations. This is such an exciting time in the gaming industry  because we have the standards in place where we can make full use of new technologies to attract and retain players. These are the new technologies that players expect, and we anticipate suppliers around the world will respond to the demand. We expect closer data interaction between land-based and on-line gaming.

What are your main projects for the coming months?
We will be focusing on members gaining certification for the standards adopted; encourage governments around the world to request open standards for central monitoring; encourage even further involvement by our operator members; and working with other industry associations on standards development efforts to help operators deliver a total property experience.
