The consortium includes Lotwin Investments LTD and its subsidiaries Reel Mada SA, Lottotech Management LTD, Damalot Technical Services LTD and Gamlot Technologies LTD. Through contractual agreements with Société d’Exploitation de Loterie, Reel Mada and its affiliates have been authorized to operate an online lottery in Madagascar. Société d’Exploitation de Loterie is a quasi government-owned entity set up to operate, or contract with third parties to operate, lotteries on the island.
“Gtech is pleased to provide the technology, support services, and game development necessary to operate an online lottery in Madagascar,” said GTECH President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel. “We will deliver a world-class lottery platform and solutions specifically tailored for the market of Madagascar. We have already established a great partnership with Lotwin and its subsidiaries, and we look forward to working with them on this new project.”
“After our successful implementation last year for Loterie Nationale in Mauritius, Gtech was our logical choice to provide the technology and support for our project in Madagascar,” said Lotwin CEO Jean-Pierre Desbiens. “We want to ensure an equally successful launch, and we are confident in Gtech’s ability to deliver the best solutions for Madagascar.”
Under the terms of the Lottery Equipment Supply Agreement, Gtech will provide a gaming central system based on the Company’s Enterprise Series solution. In addition, it will supply 1,020 Altura lottery terminals to be connected to the central system. The primary and backup data centers will be located in Mauritius.
Through an ongoing Lottery Technology Supply and Support Agreement, Gtech will offer technical support for software and game development. The system is scheduled to go live in February, with a weekly jackpot lotto game being launched initially.
