A new gaming law requested in Dominican Republic

(Dominican Republic).- The acting director of the General Direction of Internal Tax (DGII) said that the country must focus in the creation of a gaming law in order to regulate casinos, lotteries, sportsbooks and other games of chance.

Germania Montás Yapar pointed that these businesses perform annual oprations beyond us$ 2,669,030,000, according to a research by economist Henri Hebrard, however, they tax very few to the State.

He said that there are around 30,000  betting centers in the country, belonging to 1,000 owners, that are accustomed to manage resources without supervision.
