Sazka completed the exchange of communications network

In October 2010, the last of 6500 online terminals of Sazka was connected to the satellite network. The exchange of the telecommunication network has completed its process of modernization which began in 2006. Within this process, SAZKA launched a new powerful central system for lottery and non-lottery activities in 2006.

This was followed by the exchange of all online terminals for modern Altura systems, in 2006 and 2007, with ergonomic touch screens, bar code scanners and high-performance printers. In this context, Sazka trained nearly 20,000 persons using the terminals at individual points of sale. Sazka and Gtech Corporation will continue their cooperation towards the development of the network and products, with some more milestones planned for 2011.  

Gtech Corporation has been the technology partner of Sazka in the area of software, networking and communications services since 1992. Gtecj Corporation is a member of Lottomatica Group, operating in more than 50 countries worldwide and generating annual sales of 2.2 billion euros.

In the Czech Republic, the company operates via Gtech Czech Republic, a joint venture of Sazka and Gtech Corporation. In February 2010, Gtech Global Services Corporation and Sazka agreed to deepen their strategic partnership and cooperation. The contract, extended until the end of 2022, includes the provision of online products and services, as well as the operation and maintenance of systems, terminals and communication infrastructure of Sazka.
