In early November Novomatic CEO Dr Franz Wohlfahrt officially opened the new Romanian headquarters in Bucharest. Located on a 12,000 square metres site that is strategically positioned near the international Bucharest Airport (Otopeni), the group has created a futuristic regional centre that has provided a further 80 new jobs to the local economy. With a total investment of 20 million Euro, a new building complex that houses 5,000 square metres of administrative offices and warehouses was established. Construction work commenced at the close of 2008 and was successfully completed in May 2010.
At the opening ceremony Novomatic CEO Dr Franz Wohlfahrt said: "With the development of our new headquarters in Romania, we have cemented the strategic significance of our activities in this region. This is a market where we have already invested more than 65 million Euros. To date our group operates over 70 gaming venues and provides jobs for more than 1,000 staff members. Despite tough economical conditions in the CEE region, we considered this anti-cyclical investment strategy a firm basis for our future growth.”
