"The law in force bans the operation of this type of gambling venues while they are in Chilean territorial waters, in case of international ocean liners that transport passengers with touristic aims, which constitutes for the operators of these ships, an important restriction that does not attract their presence in our harbours”, pointed the representative and president of the Commission of Extreme Zones of the Chamber, Gabriel Ascencio.
Considering this situation, Ascencio said that this legal initiative aims to authorize the operation of these casinos and soften the demands for such effect in national cruises, allowing the Casino Superintendence to make those authorizations operational.
Ascencio pointed that this initiative would avoid every type of discrimination in international and Chilean ships.
