Now the islands of Curacao and St. Maarten are part of the Dutch territory, but professionals from virtual betting believe that such change will not affect the industry in general in a negative way.

As the Dutch government is considering the possibility to legalize and regulate virtual betting in the country, the chances that the activity is banned in such territories are very low. The government, the operators of traditional casinos and citizens of the country are in favor of opening the market and allowing international operators to operate within a legal frame.

Once the country finally opens to the online market, it is quite probable that the island of Curacao (which is the most important with regards to virtual betting) is forced to receive a great number of requests from online casinos.

Anyway, if the country decides to end with its prohibition to virtual betting, the island of Curacao will surely be the center to promote such operations. The disolution is considered by many people as simbolic and they say it is not probable that the laws of the island will be modified in the near future.
