Gtech signs four-year contract extension with the Florida Lottery

The contract extension will commence on March 28, 2011, and is expected to generate total revenues for Gtech in the range of us$ 135 million to us$ 145 million. The Florida Lottery has been a valued Gtech customer since 2005.  The firm currently provides the Lottery with a full range of products including Gtech’s Enterprise Series system solution; more than 13,000 Altura terminals; 6,650 ES MultiMedia digital advertising displays; 2,550 Ticket-Scan machines; and 1,000 ITVMs.

“We are committed to supporting the growth of our customers,” said Gtech President and CEO Jaymin B. Patel.  “Since 2005, we have been privileged to support the Florida Lottery in their rollout of new online games, including Powerball, as well as several game enhancements and the introduction of ITVMs. ITVMs have already generated more than us$ 190 million in additional sales for the Florida Lottery since the first machine was installed in August 2009.”

“This contract extension will provide the Florida Lottery with the capacity to increase its self-service offerings to help drive incremental growth,” continued Patel.  “We look forward to working closely with the Florida Lottery to offer additional convenience for players and retailers through the expansion of their self-service product line into new retail locations, as well as in assisting them in maximizing revenues for education programs in Florida.”

As part of the extension agreement, Gtech will install and maintain 500 additional Instant To Go 24-bin self-service vending machines.  Additionally, the firm will continue providing ongoing services to the Lottery including operation and maintenance of the central system and communications network; terminal maintenance; retailer training; field service; terminal technical support; and global marketing best practices research and consultancy. Gtech will also continue to maintain its primary data center in Tallahassee and a backup data center in Orlando.
