Chahuán pointed that there is a concern due to the drastic decrease of the arrival of transatlantic cruises to the country, which also has an effect in the Terminal of Passengers of Valparaíso, which will receive almost 20,000 passengers less in the season 2010-2011 compared to previous seasons.

“Estimations indicate that from here to 2011 they will reach 155 arrivals (in 2009 there were 228), which means a decrease in this kind of tourism that is incipient and reports important winnings”, said Chahuán.

According to people in charge of "DMC Chile" and "Turismo Nuevo Mundo", Claudio Nast and Kenneth Munro, respectively, main representatives in Chile of the most prestigious cruise lines that operate worldwide, the overview is completely unfavorable and will still worsen, in case of not making concrete actions, such as modificating the law of casinos.
