(Spain).- Online gaming handled 575 million euros in Spain last year, through 200,000 players, according to a report on betting and fraud online, ellaborated by digital security company S21sec.

According to the firm, online gaming is experimenting a very fast growth in Internet and, for that reason, this market, together with the betting market, has become the “main goal” for Internet criminals.

This way, due to the big growth experienced by this market, the high remuneration and the existing legal void, Internet gaming and betting have become the “aim” of organized crime.

In this sense, S21sec indicated that money laundering through the robbery of accounts is considered one of the main threats for the online casinos reputation.

In order to avoid frauds, the company advises not to trust any mail with an advertising message from the casino and not to bring data; check in which countries may the casino operate and also the regulatory entity to which it is susbcribed, as well as to connect to Internet from a secure computer with an updated software, and pay special attention to security tools such as antivirus, antispam and firewall.
