During the public consultation run by the National Directorate for Prevention and Evaluation of Environmental Impact of the Environment Ministry, Manuel Livongue, chairman of the Boavista Empreendimentos e Participações group said: “We are in the final stages and have already received a favourable report from the Ministry for Hotels and Tourism, Urbanism and construction, as well as from (electricity distribution company), Empresa de Distribuição de Energia de Luanda (EDEL).
Once the Environment Ministry gives its approval, he said, the Luso-Angolan partnership Sohetur plans to lay the first stone next September and construction should start at the beginning of 2011.
Sohetur is a partnership between Angolan company Grupo Boavista Empreendimentos e Participações (GBE) and Portuguese hotel group Pestana.
