Spain: Benidorm wants to change the law to have casinos in local hotels
The similar request was made by the hotel business association HOSBEC sometime ago but this one goes further asking for special arrangements to Benidorm, which guarantees the exclusivity of this kind of license in the region of Valencia.
The mayor said that Benidorm must be different because "it gives much more than other municipalities to both GDP Valencian and national." The council of the city promises to simplify administrative procedures required for gaming licenses " to "compete on equal terms with other destinations out of Spain that already have this possibility. "
The introduction of this type of tourism in Benidorm will complete but not change the current tourism and will be reflected in a significant increase of visitors and an important job growth according to mayor’s statement.
