The University of Nevada and 3 A Productions, the company organizing the event, agreed upon a strategic alliance that allows them to offer casino operators in the Caribbean Region an academic event and a top-level corporate trade show, covering the market demand comprised by islands such as Curacao, Bonaire, Margarita Island, St. Marteen, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico, among others.
“The Protection of its Assets: An Organizational Approach” is the title of the course, that will be dictated as the academic central theme of Aruba Gaming Expo, Congress & Business, an event that takes place September 1 and 2 in Westin Resort & Hotel in this important touristic place in the Caribbean. It is the first certificate that the University of Nevada issues in Latin America.
What are your expectations for Aruba Gaming Expo (AGE)?
The University of Nevada, Reno’s Gaming Management Program is very excited for the Aruba Gaming Expo. This expo will provide us with the opportunity to bring publically-offered gaming education to the Caribbean market. Previously, we worked with specific gaming organizations to bring courses to Aruba (and other Caribbean islands), however the need and interest in our courses extended far beyond the organizations we worked with.
In your opinion, what will be the main challenge of this edition?
The main challenge of this first edition of the expo will be overcoming the image of past shows in the region. I feel other shows focus only on the networking opportunities, but this show will provide exhibitors and attendees access to both the best gaming products and world-class education specific to the industry. The Aruba Gaming Expo will be a very professional and well organized event.
What does your alliance with 3A Producciones consist of?
The University of Nevada, Reno’s Gaming Management Program has entered into an alliance with 3A Productions to offer a strong educational component at all tradeshows in the Caribbean and Andean regions. We both feel that offering educational courses benefits the gaming organizations of the regions we are supporting, and we are hoping that offering courses in conjunction with tradeshows it increases the accessibility for gaming operators.
What do Aruba and the Caribbean markets represent for the university? Which is the potential of this region?
Over the past 10 years there have been many attendees from the Caribbean at the University of Nevada, Reno’s Gaming Management Program. We have also had the opportunity to work with gaming operators in the Caribbean and bring our courses on-site for their staff. Offering a gaming management course in Aruba, in partnership with the Aruba Gaming Expo, is a way to thank the region for their support of our program. We want to make access to high-quality gaming education courses more convenient and accessible to everyone. It helps the industry grow and advances the professionalism of the industry.
