ARJEL grant operator license to 888 Holdings in joint venture with Microgaming

(France).- Microgaming and its European distributor Prima Networks has announced that following their operator’s submission, 888 Malta has been successfully granted a license from the French regulator of the French online gambling market, ARJEL.

This announcement comes in the wake of the recently announced joint venture between 888 and Prima Networks, in conjunction with Microgaming; which will see both as industry leaders in their fields, combining their expertise and knowledge to deliver a Poker solution to this newly regulated market.

Roger Raatgever, CEO at Microgaming said: “Today’s announcement represents an important step in the development of the industry and marks the start of European regulated companies, collaborating in the online sphere to increase their competitiveness. Microgaming’s partnership with Prima Networks and its joint venture with 888, will allow us to combine our wealth of knowledge and experience with a leading operator, to bring the highest global standards to local markets. We are very optimistic that this new French Poker Network will enjoy huge levels of success in this new market.”

ARJEL have also granted a license to La Société Française des Jeux sur Internet (SFJI); the second operator scheduled to launch on new the network. SFJI was established in May of this year by 40 independent land based casinos in France to launch a Poker offering.
