AGA President describes New York Times editorial as a “retread”

Fahrenkopf said the newspaper repeated commentary made in a January editorial. “(The newspaper) recycles unfounded claims the paper used in a nearly identical piece published in January,” said Fahrenkopf, the gaming industry’s Washington D.C.-based lobbyist. “Too bad repeating something doesn’t make it true.”

AGA President cited the association’s recent “State of the State” study that found that community leaders and residents believe casinos are good corporate partners that generate economic development and tourism dollars.

“When it comes to expanding gaming options, your readers deserve an honest discussion with more than a lazy retread of tired accusations,” he concluded.
