“During the present administration, Segob has not granted any license to companies for the operation of remote sportsbook centers or draws, except in cases ordered by the federal justice. Besides, the combat of illegal gaming has had important improvements: this year, six illegal gambling venues have been closed in Sonora, which operated 502 slots. Besides, 417 slots have been closed and seven people have been arrested”, pointed the entity in a letter signed by Luis Estrada, general director of Social Communication.

The letter talks about the note “Segob loses before casinos”, published in Reforma newspaper last Saturday, in which it remarks the statements of the head of the Unit of Government of Segob, Juan Bosco, according to which Mexico has been invaded by equipments that have been discarded by US, something that has been very difficult to regulate.

“Second-hand equipments from US have invaded us, entering in Mexico without any control, at very low prices. It caused the opening of a myriad of illegal gambling venues that exceeded the capacity of control of SEGOB”, indicated Bosco in a report.
