During the first day, 40 international companies received the visit of local and regional operators, offering a tidy and well organized business frame. The ribbon cut was held at 15 p.m.. Previously, the authorities of the National Lottery had organized their traditional draw inside the event, which attracted a great number of public and media, in the opening of the event.

Among the most remarkable exhibitors, the firms Aristocrat, Bally, Belatra, ElectroChance, Ed Roberts, GPI and Goody Group counted with big exhibition spaces. Alan Burak, show manager of SAGSE Panama, assured, on the first day of the exhibition, that his expectations were not only satisfied, but also exceeded by the first results that the event offered.

“We had fewer expectations, and results have pleasantly surprised us”, assured Burak to Yogonet.com. “Last year we had found a not so positive scenario, because of the international economic crisis and the A Flu. However, as months went by, and other events were developing in the region, exhibitors reconfirmed their support to SAGSE and this edition offers a highly positive result for us.”

“The arrival of many international visitors to this event, together with the main local operators, shows that Panama is still a very interesting place to develop a show of these characteristics, and the support of the exhibitors reaffirms the aim to keep on working for Panama”.

When analyzing the support that official entities brought to the event, Burak assured: “We have received a complete and total support by the three main entities of the sector, here in Panama. We have counted with the collaboration of the Gambling Control Committee and the Ministry of Tourism in the logistic handling of the visitors, as well as in the media support they have offered to the development of the event, which has allowed us to have a more important event than in previous editions.”

“Besides, together with them, we achieved the edition of a report that substitutes the traditional catalogue; which allows us to reaffirm our aim to offer with SAGSE Panama a more unifying and wider event, in which the touristic offer and the gaming business have the same meeting point; the same place”.

“The Gambling Control Committee, for example, allowed the approval of a resolution according to which the entrance of products to the event did not require any payment or homologation procedures, and facilitated a more direct communication with SAGSE exhibitors, supporting the development and growth of the event. Even the National Lottery made its most important draw of the week within the event, which attracted 23 national media to do a live coverage of what happened in Atlapa, and allow us to think in a 2011 edition in which not only the casino world, but also the lottery and tourist sector may have a remarkable business space here, in SAGSE Panama”, pointed the show manager of the event.

Finally, Burak pointed: “The new Panamanian government has placed the gaming business as one of the first goals to develop in the following four years, together with the expansion of the channel and the touristic profile of the country, which shows us the way to continue growing with responsibility, to take SAGSE Panama to the level of the big international events of the sector”.
