According to the Gaming Control Board, in July 2007 there were 5,141 slot machines. Currently, there are 10,900. These machines will take in an estimated us$ 1 billion this year.

The rapid growth has caused concern among some casino operators. Antonio Alfaro, President of the Association of Gaming Administrators, said there needs to be limits set on the number of games operators can install at any one site.
