Macau has already surpassed Las Vegas as the casino gambling capitol of the world. Now, even US casino operators concede Asian gambling will soon outweigh that of the entire US. “The growth of the market in Asia has been incredible,” said the head of the American Gaming Association, Frank Fahrenkopf. He acknowledged gaming revenue in Asia would surpass the US "in three to five years."
Over ten million Japanese residents are currently players at online casinos. The gaming tradition of Asian cultures has dictated a ready-made customer base for online gambling.
While US casinos such as Wynn Las Vegas enviously aim promotions and themes at Asian customers, the sense that Asian gambling revenues cannot be matched by the US surrounds such contemplated moves as Wynn's rumored move of corporate headquarters to Macau.
