The Official Bulletin published a list of these 17 licenses for the different categories, among them, there are three licenses for the two companies that, up to present, had the games of chance monopoly in France: one for Francaise des Jeux (FDJ) and two for Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU).

The other companies that have achieved this tenders for a five-year period are: Betclic (3), SPS Betting France (2), BES SAS (2), Sajoo (2), Bertuf (1), France Pari (1), Everest Gaming (1), Illiad Gaming (1) and Table 14 (1).

25 have been the companies that applied for this opening of the online gaming market, due to a law enacted last May 13th that has given rise to the creation of the Authority of Regulation of Online Betting (ARJEL).

According to the new regulation, the bets will be authorized in 15 sports and in poker. So far, the legal sector controlled by FDJ and PMU represented a 1 billion euros business, while the illegal part was estimated in around 2,000 million.
