As of last Wednesday, there were only a handful of submissions but by Friday's midnight deadline, that number increased to 42. The Green Paper recommends that a casino be permitted in Bermuda and some of the revenue generated used to tackle social ills associated with gambling.

It is estimated that opening one casino in Hamilton would generate us$ 83 million in Government revenue a year and if casinos were allowed in hotels with 100 or more rooms, Government could be looking at us$ 130 million in revenue annually.
